John 15, 2 Corinthians
2:14-16, Romans 6:2
Saw a tree the other day a mess of
branches going every which way
Out of control a need for direction
Too much deadwood on the vine, Got me thinkin over time
That snarled tree looks an awful lot like me
I’m in need of your cleansing pruning, I’m in need of your guided growth
Cut off my stagnant branches so only good fruit can grow
Oh glory filled gardener who tends with wisdom and truth
You are welcome to have your way even though there’s pain......
In the pruning.
Got tangled up once again in the twisted brush of a familiar sin
Still hanging on to what is keeping me from growing
But I have already died to sin, it no longer reigns within
My identity will never cease to be shaped by my creator
I’m in need of your cleansing pruning, I’m in need of your guided growth
Cut off my stagnant branches so only good fruit can grow
Oh glory filled gardener who tends with wisdom and truth
You are welcome to have your way even though there’s pain......
In the pruning.
Transforming and blooming, beginning anew. I am a new creation in you.
My life longs to reveal the fragrance of your glory.
I’m in need of your cleansing pruning, I’m in need of your guided growth
Cut off my stagnant branches so only good fruit can grow
Oh glory filled gardener who tends with wisdom and truth
You are welcome to have your way even though there’s pain......
In the pruning.
